Trafficmaster, the U. K. market leader in providing and installing satellite navigation systems into private and fleet cars, has awarded a software development contract to FlexOps IT Solutions to upgrade the existing AutoFlex system at Trafficmaster’s head office in Cranfield, Bedfordshire.
Many of the existing disparate systems, such as the Internal Direct Sales and the Internal Corporate Sales of Trafficmaster customers, have been absorbed into the upgraded system to create an interface with Trafficmaster’s existing customer database and provide a web service for on line enquiries.
This is a major expansion of the original AutoFlex system. The installation schedule for this part of the project is the end of November 2005, and there will be testing of the system before the project goes live with internal orders from January 2006.
AutoFlex is specifically designed by FlexOps for the professional installer/installation company and service providers. The application manages installations and service calls from initial enquiry through to installation and invoicing and also includes engineer post code look ups, diaries, worksite mapping, electronic data transfer via email, fax, FTP, GPRS, 3.
The system is suitable for all company sizes from the professional small business owner/operator, up to large multi-user companies with many engineers/contractors and will streamline administration activities, saving key resources, reducing costs whilst increasing efficiency and is also ideally suited to companies looking to achieve or have ISO9000 registration.
AutoFlex will run on any PC/Network running Windows 98 or higher. |

Managing Director Nigel Sedgley said "We needed to modernise both our company name and logo to reflect the diversity and flexibility of our specialist software packages and to create the image of a solution orientated and customer focused company". |

"We also realised that including "Avon" in the existing company name implied only regional coverage, where in fact we can now offer nationwide sales and service to all companies in the United Kingdom". |

"So, after much research and, we have decided to change with immediate effect our company name from "Avon Information Management Services" to "FlexOps I T Solutions" We have also added the strap line "Taking the work out of work flow" to convey the amount of time and expense that companies can save in their back office administration of mobile work forces. |

Explaining how the company name was chosen, Nigel Sedgley said "The "Flex" part of the new company name is derived from the fact that we use DataFlex development software to write our packages for specific lines of business. "Flex" also illustrates that the software we offer is flexible enough to run on large, medium and small stand-alone systems. The software also allows electronic communications to take place from a company centre through a variety of diverse channels to field engineers and mobile employees working at remote sites". |

Mr. Sedgley said "The "Ops" part of the new company name also acknowledges that our software solutions take the time and cost out of the back office operations so that companies can focus on offering a second to none service to more customers, without worrying about increasing administration expense". |

The FlexOps products range includes the flagship product "AutoFlex" which is offered to installers of in car equipment. "CommuniFlex" is offered to installers and hirers of communication equipment, "GasFlex" for Corgi registered installers of Gas equipment, "CaterFlex" for suppliers of food and produce to hotels and restaurants, and "BriefFlex" for legal services who supply duty solicitors for people held in Police Station custody suites. |
